Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Bevo Really Lets Loose On Big Game Day
Posted 01-03-2019 at 08:02 PM by case44
Sure, it happened two days ago (at this writing). So what? That video catch of a very big pre-game event was just too good to pass up.
In case you haven't seen it, here's ESPN's take on a tale of two college football mascots. Let me set the stage: You've got the Texas Longhorns and the Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. And you've got the usually-stoic Bevo the Longhorn and his opponent du jour, Uga the bulldog, and this is a supposed interaction between the two. At least it wasn't a cat and an Oldsmobile.![Big Grin](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Bevo never gets excited. Ever. I mean, I've never seen it in the history of ever. Somebody must have given our cow friend too much caffeine.
This, after all, wasn't the Running of the Bulls. I guess you could say that Texas won that battle before the battle actually got started.
Where's the beef, you might ask? It was there. And it proved prophetic.

ESPN: "This is like a man walking on the moon...."
And then,..........................it happened.
"Can live television get better than that? No!"
"It was worth it...."Posted 01-09-2019 at 06:58 PM by case44 -
What a way to kick-start the year!

That's one of the real classic college football moments. Talk about an ironic prelude to a Texas victory.
