Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Technical Difficulties Are Sidelining Your Writer.....For Now

Posted 07-08-2018 at 01:53 PM by case44

Consumers have every reason in the world to hate their communications provider. When I couldn't reach Frontier Communications by phone (which is very often), I had no choice but to get on the chat session with them to get a charge straightened out. Not to mention, of course, an expired subscription for which this writer got no notice for.

Lovely.

So, after the supposed resolution was made with the chat session, I thought I'd gotten my new deal squared away, complete with cable, telephone, and the internet for the price I desired. Slight problem come Thursday of this past week....

No internet on my computer!

So, now, I've got a technician coming over from Frontier, but I really think the problem is, Frontier just needs to simply turn my internet on. This after I'd actually gotten on the phone Friday night with what ended up as five customer service representatives. That's right, five! Phone call lasted two hours when I finally got someone to help. Given the company's past reputation with customers, I'm not very optimistic. Technically, I've had everything run well in the past; the problem is, Frontier's customer service is horribly incompetent. And a misunderstanding on the part of a customer service representative is unacceptable.....and costly. We'll see what really happens if and when the technician shows up tomorrow. Will there be a resolution with the internet?? I'll fill you in first chance I get, and wherever I can do it. Either Frontier or somebody else will be my internet provider after Monday. So, as it is, your writer is stuck and mired in this latest dilemma.

~Sigh~

The things this life can bring a person.
