Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Norma's Cafe Has Their Anniversary Today, And This Writer Will Be There
Dallasites hither and thether will rejoice. Comfort food lovers will also rejoice. Norma's Cafe turns 62 on this day! ![OK](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/oglvvd.gif)
And to celebrate this momentous event, patrons are going to be treated to a special offer. This writer plans to take part in this, by the way. Three entrees, chicken-fried steak, meat loaf, and baked chicken with dressing, are all offered for $1.79 each, with mashed potatoes and green beans. They do this on every anniversary, and all Norma's locations will have people in line out the doors waiting in the hours following 10:30 a.m.
Sixty-two years in the Dallas area. Now, that's loyalty and commitment right there. Nobody can beat a deal like a $1.79 dinner. For a restaurant who likes to tell people to eat dessert first, well, then, dessert today is extra.
As soon as I get through with writing and doing my Monday chores, I plan to get my tookus over there from some grub.
And if you don't like special offers, well, then, you just don't like images of memorabilia all over cafe walls.![Big Grin](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Great meal today. Had the chicken with dressing. Marvelous. Even had a friend join me, and he got the meat loaf. Total cost between us: $6.68.
My iced tea hiked up the cost....Posted 06-25-2018 at 06:04 PM by case44
