Circles of wonder
written when two young eagle left their nest tree in N. Ft Myers, to begin life as "juveniles"
CIRCLES OF WONDER
We had to "pip" our way out of the egg;
And "branch" to get out of the nest;
Then we had to "fledge" to get out of our tree,
In ever wider circles of wonder;
Life has opened and embraced me.
My strong wings have carried me to snag and to pond
Now I soar on warm thermals to the clouds and beyond.
My life is before me....the sky is the door.
One day you look but will find me no more.
I was born in the wild and it is wild I must be
The earth is so special and there is so much to see.
So I'll bid you farewell and say a goodbye
I am feeling such joy, so try not to cry.
Tell Momma and Pappa, I just had to go;
I thank them and love them, more than they'll ever know.
