Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Congress Finally Did Something, And America Wins

Posted 12-22-2017 at 08:17 PM by case44

Didn't you get the feeling that, sooner or later, the Republican tides would turn and that there would be a common bond? Well, it happened. It finally happened, and now, there is a unity unlike any I've seen in years. The gravy is officially on the biscuits and, this time, it's the Senate holding the spoons.

If you'd have predicted a few months ago that Congress would get a tax cuts bill passed, I'd have asked you, "What weed have you been smoking?" That must have been some good weed, then. Congress actually has gotten something done. They passed a very important tax cut bill that would put more money in the pockets of the American people. My fellow Americans, along with myself, are all rejoicing right now. Let me say this again: Congress has gotten something done. Never has America been in a better economic position, and we could see a flourish unlike any we've ever seen. This is the kind of thing that will get incumbent Republicans re-elected and newcomers voted in to replace a Democrat. Yes, it's got that kind of potential.

The winners are the American people, and you can definitely score a triumph for President Donald Trump. He has displayed incredible and steady leadership through this entire process. Best of all, he's convinced those whom he'd had previous trouble convincing.

And the Democrats? Ooooohhhh, this is juicy!! They have nothing to run on. If they even so much as think about raising people's taxes, then that's an automatic defeat at the precincts. What will their contrast be for the midterms and, later, the next presidential election? The Dems are so mad right now. They don't want you to be successful, have nice things, or to have money in your bank. Lucky for us, they're not in power. Conservatives.............and conservative principles..........are winning. These tax cuts are what is best and right for all Americans, regardless of political affiliation, and irrespective of whether anyone's rich, poor, or in between. Everybody wins. Congratulations to President Trump, the Senate, and the House on a job well done. And even though it's a great Christmas treat, the bill's full effect will not first be felt until about February, but it's nonetheless coming.

What a way to end 2017!

It's a positive ripple effect that won't just impact our pockets, but it will positively impact other aspects of our nation's economy. This will also effectively repeal that terrible mandate from that gosh-awful (Un-)Affordable Care Act devised by Barack Obama, designed, of course, to have big government get in the way of our health care. But you'll eventually see the big difference this great tax bill will bring for this year and many years to come.

Check this piece out from Rush Limbaugh's website. Liberals just hate prosperity when it doesn't come from big government.

Oh, and there's no reason to worry about the Democrats winning back the House or the Senate. Republicans will certainly keep both, not just next year, but for a lot of years to come. Rest easy, folks.

What a great year President Trump has had! It's a huge relief when Congress can agree to get things done. One Hollywood actress actually tweeted calling for a repeal of the new tax cut law, but you know that's not going to happen.

I'm counting the days until I can actually feel the difference on my paychecks. Too bad they didn't kick in at Christmas.
