In Hollywood Sex Sells! 12/7/17

We all knew this was coming:

http://time.com/time-person-of-the-year-2017-silence-breakers/

Time Magazine (do people still read that magazine or any magazines?) named the "silence breakers," as the "time person of the year." These "silence breakers" are Hollywood stars, starlets and wannabees who are accusing the Hollywood elite (the rich and powerful men who run Hollywood) of rape, sexual molestation and sexual harassment, many are accusations from decades ago.

Now, as a female, I know I should be standing up with my fist held high in support of my downtrodden sisters in Hollywood and the performing arts for exposing such atrocities.

But I really just do not care.

Nope. The whole Hollywood Witchhunt doesn't interest me in the least. In fact when I hear these "Me Too" women proclaiming the horror they had to go through to get their multimillion dollar jobs, fame and luxurious lifestyles...well I don't feel sorry for them, I feel envious of them. How would they like to be a "regular" woman working a crap job, or living in a crap third world country where rape, sexual molestation and sexual harrassment happen but the woman who goes through such horrors is not rewarded with multimillion dollar jobs, fame and a luxurious lifestyle?

Oh...but the "Me Too" women are making the all women in the world safe from sexual predators by speaking out, right?

Maybe. I guess they can spin it that way if they want. But my take on it, as a lowly misanthrope, who is not part of the IPDIT group (Important People Doing Important Things), the whole "Me Too" Hollywood witch hunt is a symptom of our mass narcissistic "look at me" society that is obsessed with selfies, tweets about oneself, and Facebook pages dedicated to, you get it, oneself.

It is all about ME. If one woman (who is worth $18 million dollars) comes out in Hollywood and accuses a producer with rape, and the story becomes page one news, then a lot of other women (and men) will want to be page one news, it is all about ME remember, hence the floodgates are opened for the "Me Too" stories. Are most of the "Me Too" sexual harrassment / molestation stories true? Hell if I know. Although, I am positive that sexual harassment, sexual molestation and rape occurs in Hollywood, just as it occurs in everyday life for all humankind.

Now, when it comes to Hollywood, sex sells, period. If sex didn't sell, then you wouldn't find Hollywood stars "glaming" it up on the runway trying to outdo each other in the "sexual shock" factor. Plastic surgery, breast implants, weaves, designer clothes, luxury jewelry, all of it goes into the package ALL actors put together in order to make it in Hollywood. Many of these "Me Too" women and men cashed in with their "sexual shock" factor and made a lot of money, fame, and lived a luxurious lifestyle. But now, because it is fashionable in our narcissistic society, many of these "Me Too" women and men are now speaking out about the "hell" they endured while living as multi-million dollar famous actors in Hollywood.

Um...I don't feel much sympathy for million dollar fame hounds crying "Me Too" decades after they have been supposedly sexually harassed. Maybe many of them should have spoken up earlier, filed criminal charges, or maybe, just maybe they should have quit the acting world at the peak of their fame and fortune in order to make a point about the rampant sexual harassment, rape and molestation in Hollywood. Oh wait, *that* will never happen, because fame and fortune is too big a draw for most human beings (Important People Doing Important Things).

Pretty soon, the whole "Me Too" fad will fade and some other social justice topic will take its place, and everyone in Hollywood will go back to their narcissistic, fame hound ways. Can't come soon enough for me.
