Sunday ~~ October 29, 2017 ~~ It is almost time for ghouls, goblins, spirits, children and candy.....

Halloween, all Hallows Eve, the day before All Saints Day. Full of ghouls, goblins, spirits, children, candy, parties, door to door scares without a care in the thoughts of the children.
The children want to dress up, "scare" others, have fun and eat candy until they are sick.
Adults basically do the same thing except some add alcohol to the mix along with their less than family friendly costumes. It is shameful that one tradition cannot be left unsexed up.
Personally I do not wear a costume nor celebrate Halloween honestly we like it this way.
So, if you celebrate I wish you safety through the night and happy treating.
In other news, not much is going on with the exception of the start of the cheesy Christmas Movies on the Hallmark Channel. The only time of the year I actually sit down for a bit and watch the television. Not daily or consistantly but when one of the movies I really like is on and I do not have it on DVD.
The weather has drastically changed in recent days and I finally broke down and turned on the furnace. I did not seem to own enough blankets to get warm.
The crochet projects continue and I am almost done with the one afghan, I have another started and I cannot find the third one that I have started. I am sure I stuffed all of the yarn needed for it in one container but I cannot find that particular container.
Some of the recent topics on this forum have concerned me a wee bit. Things I do not understand why it is a required requirement. Why do humans insist on placing a regimented, single sighted label on themselves or others? Isn't human and breathing enough of a requirement? Why are there requirements to even look at someone let alone having actual contact, introduction and conversation?
I really like the song Genie in a Bottle by Christina Aguilera. I've probably spelled her name wrong.
Anyway, if the daters of today's era had to get a date the way the daters of my era had to get a date, many of them would die lonely, alone, kissless and a virgin. They would never know the pleasure of touch from another human. They would never know the wonder of exploration. They would never know the joy of heartbreak and the pain of loss or gain. A first kiss, a needed hug, a tear filled gathering with two gathered. The beauty of a given flower or a received donut. A knock on the door, a swing on the porch, a drive in the dark, a stolen hand hold, loving embrace, warm shoulder, or a special hot chocolate.
The depths of another person, the shared thoughts. The same feelings, the fireworks of a first fight and a last kiss of the night wrapped in a blanket wishing on the stars.
One day I hope at least some of them put away the agenda, requirements and cell phone long enough to live life in the moment. With all the fear, joy, excitement and possible disappoint of an introduction that leads to rejection. Then that same rejection turning into the best thing that has ever happened to them after some time, growth, exploration and life lessons.
A few thoughts to ponder if you choose to.
Do you have a favorite pair of gloves?
Is Sunday Supper your favorite meal of the week?
Do you know how many different crafts yarn can be used for?
Do you wear the same jewelry daily?
Do you put on your jewelry the same way every time you put it on?
Do you know how soft the muzzle of a horse is on your neck?
As usual I wish you restful sleep and peaceful dreams when it comes time for you to wander your timbers of slumber.
