Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Sometimes, We Wonder, What's The Point?
I sit here at this computer and wonder this: Why do we have to have a rebuttal speech after the weekly presidential address to America on the radio? Yes, I agree that both sides have to have a say, but I must tell you, the way things are going now, the Democrats' rebuttal (supposedly) of President Donald Trump's weekly addresses won't accomplish anything. In many ways, the way that it's presented, it defeats the purpose.
Have you been hearing these weekly speeches on the radio lately? President Trump has given another great speech to the nation, and this week, it was about how close we are to the Senate's decision getting ObamaCare totally repealed and replaced with a new plan. The deal is that close to Mr Trump's pen as we speak but still must be voted on. And, of course, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is making the same lame excuses for not acting upon it (And I'll have more on that in another post to follow). But Trump's speech was spot on, honest, and to the point. Now, he didn't mention McConnell, but that our Senate is sooooooo close to getting this done.
And the rebuttal?
When you're dealing with today's Democrats, all they really want to do is deflect and distract. This week, some senator from Mississippi whose name I can't recall (nor do I care, either) proceeded to go on the radio and talk to the nation, not about ObamaCare's repeal, but about a tired subject that still, even today, has no evidence. He'd rather discuss the alleged Russia hacking scandal, and how the President's son tried to get "involved" in the "collusion". This is why I said the word 'supposedly' in the aside reference earlier. Democrats such as that stupid senator would much rather focus on election and campaign excuses leading to last year's defeat rather than telling us why ObamaCare shouldn't be repealed. They did not focus on the topic at hand. I heard another presidential speech in Lubbock a few weeks ago, and the Democratic response at that time was also not about the subject matter at hand.
Just goes to show you, ladies and gentlemen, that the Democrats do not have your best interests at heart. When they can't give a rebuttal to the President's speech and its subject matter and choose to dance around and fenagle around and change the subject, it means they have nothing. Nothing.
Keep doing what you're doing, President Trump. Don't let the snowflakes and the crybabies keep America from being the greatest nation in this world.

Listening this morning to KFYO for this week's address. Trump hit another home run in talking about keeping business in America and supporting American-made products. And the left-wing response?? Once again, they didn't talk about the subject matter of the day, with some lady who didn't even bother revealing her name, and she droned on about attacking and defeating "Trump Care" with a bunch of lies about how "great" ObamaCare is and about how "mean-spirited" the new plan would be. Never mind the status of the new health care plan; once again, it is the Democrat Party who does not have an answer or a better idea to the subject matter that Trump talked about today. Either the Democrats fully agree with the idea of keeping things American, or they just want to distract and deflect from making America great again.
