Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

A New Way To Confirm If Your Order Is Right

Posted 07-14-2017 at 04:37 PM by case44

With technology continuing to evolve, don't you think maybe we need a new way to check if our fast food order is right.............without having to look inside the wrapper?

Face it, sports fans; confirmation is everything. Sometimes, you can go into the drive-thru or carry-out at your favorite fast food place when they think they have the order right. But what if you don't? So, Ol' Case thought of something.

Because I care about people like you out there who lead a busy life and people such as myself who just want to get the order right upon leaving a fast-food place, I think a really good solution to confirming the rightness of your order is a sensor system. They could have one located near the door when you leave as well as one while driving out of the drive-thru lane. If the order is right, you'll hear a bell go off, just like the correct answer on a game show. And if it's wrong? Then you'll hear a wrong-answer buzzer (similar to The Price Is Right) go off and you'll hear a legendary game-show host's voice (Bob Eubanks would be a good one) say to you, "There's something left off the sandwich", or, "The egg is missing", or, "You have mayo instead of mustard", or, "They left out a hash brown", or, "They forgot to put cheese on it". Something of that effect.

Still, some details would have to be worked out, but it's a thought worth pursuing in the quest for innovation. Fast food will just never be the same again if a confirmation sensor would just be created. And, maybe, someone might.
