Jersey girl reflects on life in CO

Many people new to CO are living what I did 20 years ago. I got off the plane from NJ and drove out to Glenwood and could not even believe how beautiful it all was. I felt like Dorothy going from black and white to color.
Like all intense love affairs, my infatuation with Colorado has waned, but I remember the feeling of a brand new incredible world. Where people did not wear ties, and had $2000 mountain bikes on top of $200 cars.
I went to live in the Roaring Fork Valley, so all we heard about was housing - lack of it, cost of it, traffic caused by lack and cost of it. Twenty years later, Denver has that same feeling to me. For many, wages just do not match housing costs.
And yet I totally relate to the desire to be here. You take a picture and send it to friends back home and you say "yea the sky was really that blue", and try to explain to people that we actually look forward to winter here.
So enjoy falling in love with Colorado. If its true love, and your "no place like home" is here, I would be delighted to help you find your Colorado home.
Cheers - and WELCOME!

My daughter has been in CO for almost 3 years, having just completing her Masters last year and moving on to her doctorate studies this summer at Seton Hall University. Since you are from Jersey, I am wondering if you have any connections for a reasonably priced apartment near the university (in a safe area). I can also be reached at lorimccorkle5598@gmail.com, and would love to have some recommendations!
