English fairy tales, evening films and fine foods
Well here I am drinking my tea, eating my strawberries and reading English fairy tales, surprisingly there are really only two books on English fairy tales one by Joseph Jacobs and full of strange stories like the tom tit tot(salt of the earth stories) and a book of fairy tales by flora steel.Besides that I can find no great English fairy tales but I've had fun perusing this page on English folklore.
What I would give to write a poetic dissertation on an obscure English fairy tale. They really don't seem as romantic and spirited as the Celtic tales.Ive been feeling better and wrote alot yesterday on inheriting a cottage for my book but really it ended up just being a bit of a phantasm, can you imagine inheriting a sweet little cottage.I've also been watching atonement every evening it has the most hazy subtle atmosphere and Cecilia and Robbie have the most palpable passion,I really adore the whole romance and wish the entire thing took place at that country house; Stokesay Court.Still ill of course and have given up,have a pretty idea for an indigo quilt with tiny motif patterned fabric and appliqué of symbols from my own life.Oh I wonder how to make such a quilt.
Had a fun time making a pretend hamper of lovely things with british fine foods (Britishfinefoods.com) I chose an oak smoked cheddar, some Buttermilk crackers and lots of other special things. If I had a fine food company Id call it 'Wistow and Sherrat' and only traditional labels would be allowed no horrid graphics.
Oh I really do wish some grand old great aunt living in the Cotswolds would take me in and tell me long tales of my ancestors,I might write a story about that.Ive been thinking of him some days wondering about things like his lineage and favourite film,oh well what can you do.
I'm wondering too about enchanted cities like Venice and joined a heraldry group it really is very complicated Griffins and gules and all sorts of symbology and one of the fairy tales I read was about how an arms came to be; I just love family legends.
