Welcome to the Ranch, Tamara!

Remember when I commented here or there that I might have to go to a very primitive way of Net computing? Such as formulating my questions during the day, asking them at work at night and finding the answers then?
Well it appears I was right in more ways than I thought. Found out I have blown through my satellite download allowance for this month and that is why my speeds are WAY down.
How could I have done that? Well, I'm guessing leaving my computer, my browsers on all the time just did it with automatic updates.
So not to do it next and the following months, I am thinking I really have to be conservative. Such as having the modem off except during scheduled checks, such as by a time table, when I do email, Facebook, things like that. Saving my blog entries for when I'm at work (although I could write them up off line at home). Not let my Net pen pals waste my time like they do; if they aren't going to respond to my hails, I shouldn't wait for them.
One thing I have started doing is sorting and cataloging my pictures. As I have commented before of how I put pictures in my diaries to reflect my thoughts, such as a pic of Oliver Reed if I had too much wine that day. Before, I would just down load it from the Net because it was just so easy as oppose to going through old folders.
Well, not anymore! Now, I'm sorting them, putting them in particular folders on various drives so I have a data base to refer to. Further, when I'm someplace where it isn't costly to download, I expand those files, such as loading up on pics from "The Cheyenne Social Club"....."Sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice! All I do is sacrifice!".
Granted, I will probably end up needed a new Tet drive before I am done.............
