Well I worked for many hours on my novel 'Daughter of Ivor' yesterday, mainly outlining it in greater depth getting the gist of it and what I needed to research.Really from timber cottages in the Hebrides to the Mciver family,to Inheritances,to the goddess Bride - there's alot to research and research is really never any type of chore.I have always adored any type of research.

So far the main character is a poet, beginning an MA in Celtic studies and deciding on her dissertation. She and her fiancé move to the Hebrides into a cottage with an inheritance from her grandmother.Really we do get to live our ideal lives in these novels.

I fell completely in love with this cottage in the Hebrides while I was doing my research, normally I never find anything but this was the first thing I saw and it was all that I was looking for.Can you imagine buying this tommorrow and busying yourself with moving in,as I write my novel this is the cottage I have in mind.

I got so excited about all these novels of mine set in the beloved isles with their home and hearth intertwined with lore and legend.I then started to think about novels about the Spencer girls.I'd love such books but there are none.I happened upon 'Margaret the first' a biographical novel of the Duchess Margaret Cavendish two days ago.I Became very intrigued by the cover and a little bit interested in the idea of biographical novels but forgot about it.

I was doing some Spencer family research(an old noble family in England) like I've done for years (mostly of Spencer women),and there were those Cavendishes again,as always.I have dreamt often that I descend from Spencer's.I think I will buy 'Margaret the first' since she is one of the peripheral ties to the Spencer's.It will give me a good taste of the biographical novel too.

I found some pretty Victorian things to put on my Pinterest which you can see below, all deep maroons and engraved lockets. You look at a modern phone and an antique phone and wonder how such a decline in beauty came about. But really I like simplicity and am more than a little bit rusticated in addition to being quite fussy.I blame it on my genes peasants and scholars alike swim in my veins.

I like to think of Bjork saying "you have a thousand years of cells inside your body and you cannot escape it,you are all those people."
