Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Villa A Breath Of Fresh Air At Grammys

Posted 02-13-2017 at 02:17 PM by case44

Typically, I don't watch awards shows all that much on television. And in this day and age, with so much political hate speech being spewed unnecessarily at audiences who would rather be entertained than spinned, such award shows are not even worth watching. Personally, if I had won an award, I would at least take the time to thank those responsible for the success of my latest album or song.

Alas, though, I haven't. Not yet, anyway.

But take note as to who participated in last night's Grammy Awards. Did you catch this? Her name is Princess Joy Villa. She did not make any outbursts or attacks against President Trump (unlike the cowardly left-wing celebrities have done in recent weeks because they're losers and they can't deal with losing an election), but she did wear something on stage while she performed her latest tune. It was a red, white, and blue dress that had the words "Make America Great Again" on its side and TRUMP on the back of it. It got significant enough exposure that, after her performance, sales from her 2014 album, "I Make The Static" absolutely skyrocketed. I mean, all the way to number 11 on iTunes and to the top of the digital album charts. Princess Joy Villa is now the rage of social media, and that's a good thing.

So much and so fast. And it's a breath of fresh air, at least, from a normal person's perspective. In an era where the left chooses threats and belittling and demonizing to try to take control of our society (in which they are actually losing control), it's good that there are people in the entertainment industry with the balls to stand up for our great country.
