Saturday ~~ December 31, 2016 ~~ The last day of 2016 has arrived.

What plans do you have?
Our plan is to stay home and let the amateur amateurs slaughter each other on the roads without our presence.

We found the girls (cats) new food finally so they are happy. I went and met a dog at the pound, he is a very sweet boy but I am not ready to share our home with another dog yet.
Walter has been gone since July 25, 2016 and it is just too soon for me and I am not sure there will ever be a good time for another dog.

I bought about 40 skeins of yarn today, all on sale and no I really did not need *more* yarn however, I am currently working on Prayer Shawls and Afghans so the yarn will all be used by the time the President's Day Sales start.

So........a specific story has been requested and *Yes* this is a true story from my very young, very distant, marginally stupid lifetime.
My apologies in advance if anyone is offended and keep in mind I must abide by PG-13 requirements but I will do my best to keep the story truly true to actual events.

I learned how to drive a stick shift in a Chevy that had 3 on the tree. It was a great car and I was allowed to use it when I wanted after I learned how to drive it properly with the manual transmission.

One evening I decided to go out for a bit and I used that vehicle. Along the way I ran into some friends who were on their way to meet other friends at a party and they asked if I wanted to go with.
I followed them to *our* spot out in the country and there were a lot of kids out there already. A huge bonfire was going, there was plenty of alcohol available and there were a lot of absolutely gorgeous, single, available guys. It was a smorgsbord of males and it was quite inviting and enticing with some excitement thrown in just for fun.
I had been looking at one particular guy from a different school for a while and he just happened to be there, alone, gorgeous, available and willing to be not alone.
He was so smooth, the way he walked, talked, moved and worked his way to the hood of my vehicle.......
Without revealing every detail I will just write that the rest of the evening was not spent with the crowd at the bonfire and it was not spent away from the crowd at the bonfire alone.
I can guarantee that the hood of that vehicle is not the best place to *sow one's oats* even in the company of smooth, gorgeous, available, willing and eager.
I can also guarantee that winshield wipers are not very comfortable pillows and the challenge to actually stay on the hood while attempting play time and sleep is much easier said than accomplished.
The rest of the story I will leave you to fill in the blanks however you choose to.

So to end this year I will leave a few thoughts to ponder if you choose to.

Do you know what it is like to realize that your grand children are close to being adults?
Do you brush your teeth after every meal in addition to when you wake and before you go to bed?
Do you wear purple socks?
Do the seats in your vehicle heat up?
Do you like Espresso?

As usual I wish you restful sleep and peaceful dreams when it comes time for you to wander your timbers of slumber.

PS ~~ If you go out this eve, stay warm, stay safe, call a cab if necessary and we hope to see you next year.
