Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Daily Meditations and Affirmations - 55

Judges 16:21 - "But the Philistines took Samson, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison-house."

The same thing happens to a person in whom the enemy appetites reside and triumph. First these appetites weaken and blind, then they afflict and torment by chaining that person to the mill of concupiscence, for they are the chains by which a soul is bound.

Genesis 1:26 - "God said, let Us make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts, and over all the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth."

It is not satan who defeats us; it is our openness to him. Satan is tolerated for one purpose: the warfare between the devil and God's saints thrusts us into christlikeness, where the nature of Christ becomes our only place of rest and security. God allows warfare to facilitate His eternal plan, which is to make man in His image.

It has always been the Lord's intent to have a "people" who would have dominion authority on the earth.
The word "dominion" (Hebrew - radah) means to prevail, rule, reign, to tread down."

Through Jesus Christ we have been given authority over the enemy and all that he would try to come against us with. The word AUTHORITY means, LEGAL OR RIGHTFUL POWER, A RIGHT TO COMMAND OR ACT.

"Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you." - Luke 10:19

1 Peter 1:13 - "Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ."

Plan of Action

TODAY I SEEK TO DEAL WITH THE LOOSE ENDS THAT I'VE ALLOWED TO REMAIN IN MY MIND AND EMOTIONS. I MAKE THE DELIBERATE CHOICE TO START SUBMITTING EVERY AREA OF MY MIND AND EMOTIONS TO THE WORD OF GOD AND TO THE SANCTIFYING POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
