REJECTED! Again and again...

Posted 06-24-2016 at 12:36 PM by peebola

...awesome!

I received two rejection emails today from two jobs I didn't interview for. Looks like HR is cleaning up their crap before the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

I was rejected from Lowes. That's right...Lowes, the big box home improvement store. I am so sucky, I can't even run a cash register, even though I programmed last year from scratch, a POS/inventory system for a local microbrewery - of which they use everyday with their CASH REGISTER.

Whatever.

To update my useless and waste of time job search stats:

Searching for a job: 3 months (13 weeks)
Jobs applied: 84
Jobs rejected from: 28
Interviews: 10
Job Offers: 0

I am still doing my law of attraction for the universe to send me an opportunity. The whole applying for jobs is for the birds (sorry birds, you don't deserve such hell ).

I really would like to know what it will take for me to get a job in America. Am I really such an old useless fart, that I can't even get a job in retail?

I guess so.

I am in the same boat...

this is my 13th week since my last contract with Ericsson ended on March 23rd. Since I am older, I can only get "contract" positions, but it seems I cannot land those in this election year. I think there are millions out of work, and our government isn't counting, so we can't go by the made up unemployment rate.

I hear that there are upwards of 250 people applying for each decent job, $15+ per hr.

IF there are fully 94 million eligible workers sitting on the sidelines in the U.S. today, and there are only 143 million occupied jobs as of May 2016, then it stands to reason that the unemployment rate is a wee bit higher than 5-6%, don't ya think? It might not be 40% like it appears above, but there are a lot of lies coming from our leaders nonetheless.

I wouldn't beat yourself up too bad. This isn't your fault.

Good Luck!! We all need that these days =P

I agree. The unemployment rate is much higher than what our "beloved" leaders want us to believe. I believe it is close to 15%. I know two other people who are unemployed. I am not counted in the statistics, they are not counted either since none of us are on unemployment insurance. Nor has anyone come to our doors or telephoned us and asked us in a survey if we are unemployed.

No one cares. Unemployment is just as bad today as it was in 2008. Nothing has changed.
