Tuesday ~~ May 31, 2016 ~~ The holiday weekend is officially over.

Posted 05-31-2016 at 02:40 AM by CSD610

I do hope all of you and yours had a great weekend, safe travels, great food, shared memories and lots of fun.
We stayed home all weekend because Mr. CSD is still sick. We are sure it is some viral thing and hope he will be rid of it in the next day or so.
He has a pre test appointment on Wednesday and we hope that goes well.
Otherwise there really is not much new to write about overall.
I did get more of a project completed with more to come. I started a new crochet project that is looking much better than I anticipated as far as the colors I chose go. It is a simple stitch and I have chosen Heather Gray and Aran as the colors. I should have it finished later today or tomorrow. Then I will start on the next project. I want to get all of the yarn I have in our home used before the end of June.

So let me tell you a story that started about 45 years ago.
A small child at the age of 5 knew one day that she was protected and loved by God. All she had to do to keep this protection and love was be a good girl and pray daily.
It didn't matter what she prayed or how she prayed, she just had to be good and pray.
So the years go by and she does what she thinks makes her a good girl and she prays every day without fail.
Even when bad things happened she continued for 10 years. Then when she was 15 she started wondering why she was a good girl and why she prayed. Bad things still happened so she stopped being a good girl and stopped praying.
This continued for 10 years then when she was 25 she finally settled down completely into family life. She was married by then, she had 3 children a good job, a good husband and she started praying again.
This lasted for about 30 years then something traumatic happened to her.
It may appear to be trivial and shallow to some but it was important and traumatic to her.
She continued to pray but her faith was waivering more and more daily. She started wondering why she prayed, why she was a good girl and why she had lost something she treasured because of the carelessness of someone else.
Then she realized over her lifetime how much she had actually lost. Almost everything she had kept from her childhood was now gone, her childhood was taken from her because of her circumstances, her sperm donor was just that a donor so she had a father taken from her even though he had not died. She has numerous things lost over the years, some she cannot remember even owning any longer.
The biggest thing she appears to have lost is her ability to trust, to love completely, openly and honestly.
Now she is mad at God because God whom she has always believed would do anything she asked because she was a good girl.
God did not and has not returned her item that she treasures so much. All it would take is a thought of a thought and that item could be back where it belongs but nothing.
No item, no reason why not, and faith that is being lost more daily without one sign from God that he even cares enough to do the one thing she has asked just to keep her belief that he exists, protects her and loves her.

So, what would you do if this story was about you? Would you hang on to the smallest thread of belief or would you let go completely?
What a conflict but I'm sure an actual scenario for many humans from moment to moment every day.

My apologies if the story is too long for you to read.
A few thoughts to ponder if you choose to stick around long enough to ponder.

Do you check the lights, turn signals and flashers on your vehicle once a week?
Do you like to go camping?
Do you wear colored socks?
Do you have more cords now than you had before our wireless society started?
Do you like the lamp on your desk?

As usual I wish you restful sleep and peaceful dreams when it comes time for you to wander your timbers of slumber.

So let me tell you a story that started about 45 years ago.
My story began 56 years ago.
A small child at the age of 5 knew one day that she was protected and loved by God. Change the age to 4 and this could be me.All she had to do to keep this protection and love was be a good girl and pray daily.
It didn't matter what she prayed or how she prayed, she just had to be good and pray. Finally permitted to go to Sunday School at age 5.
So the years go by and she does what she thinks makes her a good girl and she prays every day without fail.I was always a good girl, but didn't pray every day. Got baptized twice, Baptist then Catholic. God led me to a church that I never considered, and still have not "joined" as a member.
Even when bad things happened she continued for 10 years. Then when she was 15 she started wondering why she was a good girl and why she prayed. Bad things still happened so she stopped being a good girl and stopped praying. Met husband at 17, married at 19, at age 55, my life with this man imploded.
This continued for 10 years then when she was 25 she finally settled down completely into family life. She was married by then, she had 3 children a good job, a good husband and she started praying again. I had 1 child, worked, anti-social husband, unhappy life but managed until child turned 18
This lasted for about 30 years then something traumatic happened to her. Several traumatic events happened in my mid 40's, but the implosion/tribulation happened at 55
It may appear to be trivial and shallow to some but it was important and traumatic to her. If it affected her, it IS important and of meaning to her.
She continued to pray but her faith was waivering more and more daily. In my case, my faith was tested at age 46, and when I gave it all to God, in Faith, He showed He was there for me. She started wondering why she prayed, why she was a good girl and why she had lost something she treasured because of the carelessness of someone else. Others, no matter who they are, are only human. Everyone will disappoint us in our lifetime.
Life on this earth is just temporary, we came in with nothing, we will go out with nothing. Everlasting life after death is the goal to achieve.
The biggest thing she appears to have lost is her ability to trust, to love completely, openly and honestly.
Now she is mad at God because God whom she has always believed would do anything she asked because she was a good girl. I used to think that if I was "born again" that nothing bad would happen in my life. This is not how it works. There is nothing in the Word that says believers will not have pain, sorrow, loss, or other misfortunes in our lives. It is all about turning to God to get us through these events. Yes, there will/may be anger, there will be sadness and tears. But He is there to help us. I joined a Bible Study in 2003 and it has been a true eye-opener.
God did not and has not returned her item that she treasures so much. Anything that is made more important than our God becomes an idol. All it would take is a thought of a thought and that item could be back where it belongs but nothing. Jesus spoke in parables. "Moving a mountain" does not really mean physically moving a real mountain. It implies Faith can move a mountain/problem in one's life. So true.
No item, no reason why not, and faith that is being lost more daily without one sign from God that he even cares enough to do the one thing she has asked just to keep her belief that he exists, protects her and loves her. He does, she just needs to find a Bible study group, or listen to one of the following to begin to understand how He works in our lives as believers: Rick Warren or Charles Stanley or Greg Laurie, or Paul Shepard are all favorites of mine. Stay away from the Joel Osteens and other high profile (read: entertaining) mega church preachers. I highly recommend KDRY (San Antonio, but has an app so wherever you are in the world you can listen to. KDRY.com). Also K-Love for music by contemporary artists. Klove.com

Do you check the lights, turn signals and flashers on your vehicle once a week? No
Do you like to go camping? No
Do you wear colored socks? yes
Do you have more cords now than you had before our wireless society started? no
Do you like the lamp on your desk? no longer have a desk, so no lamp.
