Matthew 27:51 - And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. Mark 15:38 - And the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. Luke 23:45 - And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. This is part of the description told about in the Bible of what happened at the temple in Jerusalem after Jesus died for our sins on the cross. The curtain hung in the temple used for worshiping God and divided the areas where "common people" could go and what was called the most holy place, where only the high priest, chosen by God himself could go to make offerings and speak for the people. After Jesus died and paid for all our sins, the dividing curtain in the temple was torn by God.The symbolism and message here is that now anyone can approach God and faith in Christ is all that's needed. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 10:19-21 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, Jesus has become our high priest, and our opening in the curtain, and because of his work in securing salvation for us on the cross we can all approach God."What About Jesus?"
