Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,
case44

Leave It To (The) Beaver: Buc-ee's Is Finally In Cowtown
Posted 05-26-2016 at 08:50 PM by case44
Okay. Say it. You just got used to going to the Terrell location and can't let go. Well, if you're closer to where I am, then you can drive a shorter distance if you just happen to get the itches for Buc-ee's Nug-ees. ![Big Grin](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Beaver Fever has finally made it into Fort Worth, right next to Texas Motor Speedway and just two weeks from a major race to take place there. If you'd prefer being at Buc-ee's when there's not much of a crowd, well, you'd have to be there at daybreak. I've done that, by the way. Not too long ago, in fact. Feels good. Less crowded. Any other time of the day, prepare to say "Excuse me" about fifty-seven times.
It's been long-awaited and the clean restrooms are ready to stay, well, clean. QuikTrip? Child, please. You can hold it.
And the one hundred gas pumps await those who don't drive trucks to come in and pump up before moving on to Cowtown or to Oklahoma City or wherever their vehicles take them. And Case is sure to make a visit there. Got to get a Beaver brisket sandwich someday. Buc-ee's is ready for me. And they have so many things to browse even if you decide not to buy anything. That alone is worth doing.
And if you don't like Buc-ee's, well, then you just don't like cartoon beaver mascots who provide the beacon of light for your travel life.![Big Grin](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Go. Just go. Soak in the experience.

Makes me want to take a road trip! Perusing the recipes and found this gem:
- Serve Buc-ee's Candied Jalapenos over Vanilla ice cream.

^^^ Anytime you're in Texas, just come on.
Go to the Buc-ee's website and you can see the different locations in the eastern half of the state. Travel centers are way larger than their smaller stores, and are duly denoted.

And Jerry Mathers As The Beaver...
WALLY: Hey, Beav, did you see what case44 did? He referenced us in his blog page. Pretty neat, huh?
BEAVER: Yeah. I think so. Gee, Wally, you think he would have considered "My Three Sons" first.
WALLY: Well, heck, I think Eddie and Lumpy would have done that.
(~audience laughter~)
WALLY: I see how he used our show to talk about Buc-ee's. Hey, Beav, how about we go over to Buc-ee's and get some Nug-ee's and stuff?
BEAVER: Sure. Gee, Wally, don't you think they could have used another animal for their mascot?
WALLY: I dunno. Maybe they could have gone with a tiger or a dog or something.
BEAVER: Then we wouldn't have any Nug-ee's.
WALLY: Well, yeah; you don't wanna feel like a creep, do ya? (~audience laughter~)
