Keeping On...

Yesterday I received two phone calls.
1. Was from a Customer Service job I applied to a day ago.
2. Was from an Administrative position I applied to 3 weeks ago.
I called back the Customer Service job number and it sounded like a 10 year old girl answering her cell phone. The phone rang six times and then the girl answered the phone with "Hello?"
I then said "Is this [the girl's name left on my voicemail]?"
She stuttered and said "Umm...yes?"
I then stated my name and said I was returning her phone call. She sounded a bit confused and then said she wanted to set up a phone interview. I asked her what company she worked for (seeing as I have applied for many CSR positions and she didn't state on the voice mail what company she was calling from, go figure). She told me the company and we set up a phone interview for Friday.
After I hung up the phone, I realized that businesses no longer hire HR people who know how to answer the phone in a business manner. You know...you answer the phone with the name of the company and your name, so the person knows they dialed the correct number.
Oh well, I guess the world is a different place.
I then called back the Administrative Assistant position. The woman who answered the phone sounded put off, and said she wanted to schedule an interview for Thursday (today). I told the woman I could not schedule an interview for Thursday as I was out of town, but I could schedule an interview for Friday. She huffed and said she would have to check her schedule and she would get back to me. She never called back.
After I hung up the phone I marked that job as a rejection. Rejection number 10!
How did I know she wouldn't call back?
Probably because she was huffy and was pissed that I wasn't available on less than 24 hours notice for an interview. I applied to the job 3 weeks ago, even though I am unemployed, I don't sit home everyday by the phone waiting for the phone to ring. I still have a life to live.![Smile](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Still keeping on...looking for a job is fun!![OK](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/oglvvd.gif)
