Thursday ~~ May 5, 2016 ~~ Why do humans not use proper names and clear concise English?

Posted 05-05-2016 at 01:06 AM by CSD610

I have never understood why humans believe that their opinion or the point they are wanting to make is going to be taken seriously when not presented in a mature proper manner.

Whether writing or speaking I find myself glossing over anything that is presented using combined or made up words that have no basis in the reality of the topic being presented.

Many examples can be found on this forum as well as most television, radio, newspaper or other types of media. Such as what I just read on this very forum. In the title of the thread it states *Drumpf* and *Hitlery* (or something close to those *names*). Am I really expected to take the context of whatever that post is seriously? Do you honestly believe that you are presenting yourself as a mature, intelligent adult who has a valid point?

I can tell you from where I sit, I won't even waste the time on such an immature presentation no matter what the context of the post is. In my opinion this type of presentation screams in neon letters *I'm 12 look at me*.

Also, the proper word to use in other instances is *anyway* NOT *anyways*. There is no *s* in the word anyway and I am not sure when the word anyways became acceptable. Probably about the time the word *bromance*, *glamping* and *loose* (when attempting to discuss when one wants to *lose* weight).

Another of my all time favorites is combining names. Is this really necessary?
What is the point? Do you believe you are presenting yourself as a mature intelligent adult when referring to two individuals as
*Brangelina* or *Bennifer*. It is in my opinion silly and unnecessary.

I am curious how some got through school speaking and writing as they do. Shoot, I'm curious how some tie their shoes without signing on some sort of social media to ask if the act of tying one's shoes is the best thing to do so one does not trip on their shoelaces.

So this is technically me fussing about how some humans present themselves and have the expectation of being taken seriously.
I would venture to guess I am not the only one who first does not take them seriously and last gets tired of seeing that type of presentation.

Now on to somewhat sad news for me alone.
I cannot find a particular book and it is very upsetting to me. This book is the very first book I ever owned and it was a gift to me from my Mother when I was 10 years old.
I am now 55 years old and I discovered that book is not where it should be and I have no idea where it is.

With our move, my stroke, all the turmoil, healing, sorting, unpacking and donating I am afraid that book may have been accidentally mixed in with donation items.
I am heart broken over this loss but I am still going to hold out hope that I find the book tucked away somewhere safe. I am going to go to both places I have donated items though with the hopes of finding my book if it was actually donated by mistake.

The other annoyance this week with all the above mentioned chaos is that I cannot find 6 metal plates that I have kept close track of for the last 5 years. They are the metal plates that attach the 3 pieces of my desk together to form the *L* shape of my desk.
Hopefully we will find those very soon as well so I can get my desk put together and use it instead of the big desk I am currently using.

So, these are my thoughts for the last hour or so of moments and I decided they were worth passing along.

My apologies in advance for the fussing at the beginning.

A few thoughts to ponder if you choose to ponder them.

Do you drink carbonated water?
Do you prefer banana bread with or without walnuts in it?
Do you have a favorite travel cup for hot beverages and a separate one for cold beverages?
Did you know there are at least 101 things you can make with popcorn?

As usual I wish you restful sleep and peaceful dreams when it comes time for you to wander your timbers of slumber.
