2015 Preview

Posted 12-28-2015 at 07:35 AM by chadgates

Looking ahead to the 2015 SCFB season and we'll begin with a few alignment changes. These were made for either of two reasons and possibly both:

1) geographically better
2) competitively better

First in the Delta conference LA-Monroe and LA-Lafayette have changed places with Memphis and Southern Miss. LSU/Arkansas were the only two "upper tier" teams in the Delta West, while Delta East has Bama/Auburn/Miss St. and Ole Miss. While Memphis and Southern Miss may not be considered "upper tier" they have recently been stronger than the other 8 "lower tier" teams in the conference.

Second in the New England conference Temple and Army have been moved to the South, while Old Dominion and Maryland have taken their place. This was primarily done for ease of scheduling since Temple's "rivalry game" had been set up to be Penn St, and also Army/Navy, yet these 4 teams were split up.

Finally in order to give a bit more balance to the Great Lakes conference, I have moved Michigan to the South and relocated Ohio to the North. This gives us Michigan/Ohio State in one division, and Michigan State/Notre Dame in the other.

In other news...

The schedule is just about finished and will be posted before the start of the season, which will begin the Friday after the NCG, so the 15th of Jan.
