Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Christmas 2015 Is Here At Last In The World

I've got my coffee. You've got your egg nog.
Some of you have snow falling in anticipation of that great winter ritual known as the snowball fight, and others, well, in my neighborhood, we will have 68 degrees and sunshine today. Good weather to run around in the parking lot naked. ![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Okay, relax, y'all; my clothes are staying on. I have to go see my uncle and aunt and several cousins this afternoon. Last night, my mother and I were reunited with my brother at the Christmas Eve feast table for the first time in a decade. He brought his girlfriend with him, and all of us had the best visit anyone could imagine. The table was set with fantastic food fit for a king: Beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes, spinach casserole, southwestern corn casserole, rolls, cheesecake, apple pie, coffee, and iced tea. This was as good as it got. And lots of presents, too. Everybody liked their gifts.
Hope y'all got everything you wanted. While you're probably sitting by the TV watching "A Charlie Brown Christmas" or "It's A Wonderful Life", you've taken time to be with your family. Visiting. Eating. Taking the wrapping off of the gifts without dislocating your thumb.
More visiting. More eating. It's just what people do on Christmas.
It's also a time when we all remember the Christ child, born many moons ago in a Bethlehem manger, to live a perfect life, and to die on a cross............only to rise up again! Many have already attended Christmas Eve services, as churches have people gathering for Christmas carols and candlelight.
Whatever you do and wherever you go, make it a great Christmas Day!
All the best to all of you, and we all look forward to an exciting New Year!

^^ Can't do egg nog. It's the taste.
But you can always entice me with hot chocolate.Posted 01-01-2016 at 10:08 AM by case44
