Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

E(I)nquiring Minds Want To Know, But Why?

You check out at your local grocery store, and you stop and take a look at different magazines. Where I am, you might see Better Homes & Gardens or Texas Monthly, but you also see tabloid, newspaper-style magazines. Oh, you know what those are. Star. National Enquirer. OK!.

For grins, chuckles, and head-scratches, I'll just pick on the Enquirer.

I get such a kick out of articles that are so off the wall, one has to wonder if these people are serious. What you usually get is some celebrity or political figure in, well, some kind of fix. After all, e(i)nquiring minds just have to know. Really. It seems that every time I see a new cover, some aged actor or actress is in his/her "SAD LAST DAYS". Ever notice that? It's a new person every week, and, no, they aren't dead yet. Not by a longshot. Celebrity gossip at its artificial, made-up finest.

Here are a few samples if you dare.

Jimmy Fallon's Deadly Spiral Of Booze, Cocaine And Wild Partying - The National Enquirer

Jen Aniston Gets Her Own Baby Whisperer! - The National Enquirer

Jim Nabors' Wedding To Rock Hudson! - The National Enquirer

Frank Sinatra Was Cocaine Gang Overlord - The National Enquirer

Honey, Let's Shrink The Kids! - The National Enquirer

Giada De Laurentiis 'In Love' With Married Man - The National Enquirer

A Nasty Pizza Work! - The National Enquirer

Bikini Babe Gisele Bündchen Puts New Boobs On Parade! - The National Enquirer

Hillary Clinton Violent Rages Fits Paranoia Are Exposed - Explosive Tell-All - The National Enquirer

By the way, I should point out the words enquire and inquire, I've learned, are the same thing. Just want to be sure that my spelling is right. I guess if I get that wrong, then I might find myself on an Enquirer cover.

Case44 Craters During Written C-D Synopsis

At least, for a change, they won't mention my last days....
