Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Veterans Everywhere, We All Thank You
Many men and women of bravery have served in our U.S. Armed Forces down through the years. They've gone out into harm's way to protect our sovereignty and freedom and have sought to defeat those who dare try to destroy us. And today, many still serve and still fight the good fight.
November 11 is Veterans Day in America. Let's pause from whatever we're doing and take the time to thank all of those who have demonstrated their bravery in fighting for us. A lot of them are still alive today. A few of them were in Frisco's Community Parade this past weekend. Many others are living in other parts of the country, either still working are who are retired now. Some still-alive soldiers go back to World War II and have fought the great fight there and have some remarkable stories to share with us if they could just join me at the table for coffee. Now, others, still, have died while in the act of protecting us. We remember those on Memorial Day each year, but we can't forget them, either, on Veterans Day.
I, for one, deeply appreciate the efforts of these men and women and it's one whale of a sacrifice. It is a sacrifice that no human in his/her right mind can take for granted, overlook, ignore, or lay to waste. In an era where left-wing political influences seek to damage, denigrate, and discredit our Armed Forces, as well as police officers, the rest of us (who outnumber the left, be it government or civilian) support these warriors and appreciate the things they've done which we've taken for granted. America continues to stand proudly because of these soldiers, and it's nice to know that people still do care about our great country. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all!
For those who are still out there in uniform, away from their families, and fighting the good fight against evil, I salute you. Press on!

There were people at the football games and radio people and a host of other folks who have taken the time to thank these great men and women. That was a great touch and it's good to still see people appreciate the real heroes out there. Too bad our federal government doesn't give a damn about them.
