Day 3 of my Arizona trip

Left Amarillo about 6:30 a.m. Was going to stop for breakfast and gas but did not realize I was to the outskirts. I kept looking for a decent gas price and next thing I knew I was in NM! Got gas ($21.01 @2.299) in Glen Rio NM grabbing some coffee and a muffin.
I had to stop almost hourly probably due to bad nerves from yesterday's hotel stress 😨
I thought Albuquerque was beautiful and wished I had time and the money to explore, especially the mountain houses seen at Sedilla. I drove through part of Truth or Consequence because I had time to kill but the town didn't appeal to me so I only stopped for gas ($26.65 @2.459).
Hotel in Las Cruces NM is very nice and they allowed me to check in early. Was going to take a few pics but rechargeable batteries were dead. Couldn't find where charger got packed, so went and bought new charger set and hope to get pics in the a.m.

I stayed at a Travelodge in Amarillo and the only available room was a smoking room. That was hard, but I sucked on my hard candy and nicotene lozenges. I left very early! Sorry to say it but I didn't like Amarillo and wish I had booked somewhere in Oklahoma.
In Las Cruces, I stayed at The Big Chili Inn (an American Best Value Inn) which was lovely and I really liked Las Cruces and did get a few very early dawn pics of the city with the distant mountains.Posted 10-24-2015 at 08:10 AM by Deelighted
