I really don't know everything about them. But they're not a huge issue here. Of course I've been bitten by them several times in my life but it's not often at all. And luckily we keep our doors and windows closed at night so they don't come in. I heard that mosquitoes can kill you with a disease but I don't know of that in California. I had also heard that the warm weather can trigger it but I'm lucky I haven't had any serious problems with them. And if I see a mosquito I get it mixed up with a spider or mosquito hock. I see one of those and I get really scared and freak out and I ask "is that a mosquito, spider or mosquito hock?" But for me, either way it's a bug so my reaction is gonna be the same.
