The last day of confinement
No more work release.
Return to 'normal' life
Quite the release.
In the 4 months
I've had to serve.
No justification
I did deserve.
But make the most
That I have.
No longer living
Distorted and deprave.
Lost my girl
Love of my life.
Too much in the way
Inner strife.
Sold my home
The first I bought.
It was best
Not distraught.
I did however,
Gain some peace.
Rediscovered lessons
Learned through famine, not life's feast.
With time will come trust
From friends and family.
Through a troubled life
I'm comprehending, serenity.
