Sun's Out, Fun's Out

It's time to stop hibernating indoors. Whether it's going for a brisk walk, a bike ride or playing golf, it's important to get out, get moving and stay fit.

If you have a lung condition like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD, and find you are experiencing shortness of breath when enjoying these or other activities, don't assume it's just a result of growing older – it may be a sign your COPD could be better managed. If you take medication for COPD but are still experiencing shortness of breath, there may be treatment options available that can help you breathe better.

In order to stroll, garden or hike, steady breathing is necessary. You don't have to accept shortness of breath – there are ways that you can improve your lung health. The better you breathe the more active you can be.

It's a new season, and time for a new normal. Talk to your doctor about your shortness of breath and how you can improve your lung health.
