Most successful state to be self sustainable

Thanks for your response...i definitely have though long and hard about California. Here is what is holding me back...1. All the political drama going on over there. 2. Lack of water and uncontrollable wildfires. 3. High cost of living. I know every state is going to have it's drawbacks. I will always consider California as one of the top picks. I also would prefer west coast. Maybe there will be more changes there for the better in 4 years. That is my planned move time. Any other info you have is appreciated.
