Rule #2: Men and women cannot simply be friends if there is attraction

I don't believe men and women can be "just friends" -if- there is a degree of physical attraction between them.

Eventually the attraction motivates wanting to spend more time with each other, which creates an emotional attachment. This prompts a demand in one or both to initiate romance because two key elements of a romantic relationship have been satisfied, whether consciously or not. Almost always, these friendships do not last because one is hurt from the attachment not being reciprocated -if- the other doesnt share the same romantic inclination.

I know this because I have been in this situation. I have sat outside and been the observer of many others in this situation. The difference between now and in my early twenties - when I would realize and be completely devastated by becoming attached to my male friends and wanting more with them and they only wanted casual acquaintanceship but would accept sex - is that now I'm more aware of when this happens.

Therefore Im more likely to simply drift away from these acquaintanceships and disappear.

I dont want to end another friendship, but I feel myself wanting more and being deserted by that feeling probably not being mutual. To avoid the hurt, I just have to leave altogether before Im in too deep, because men and women cannot just be friends if one or both are attracted.
