Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.![Stick Out Tongue](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Lessons From Lemons: The Sour Truth
Posted 06-14-2015 at 07:31 PM by case44
Sometimes, I tend to overuse my juicer for various produce.
So, perhaps, your favorite blogger will have to commence to squeezing lemons to get better juice........................for my water bottles.
Look, I had just gotten bored with the liquids I've taken with me to work in recent weeks. Water is good and good for us, but water alone gets boring after it stops being cold. I had taken flavored water already made at the supermarket to work, but sometimes, I need to mix things up a bit. On the week before my vacation, I decided to take the entire lemon and put slices of it in the juicer, zest and all, and decided to make some flavoring for my bottled water.
Big mistake.![EEK!](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Oh, the finished product had high nutritional requirements, no doubt, but due to some overzealous maneuvering, I got the flavoring too bitter.
Amazing how I'd learn a few lessons in preparing food even now. I'll always be learning how to cook and mess around with food. This bit with the lemon only goes with the territory. So, I've gotten a small strainer to keep the seeds out of the juice, and Ol' Case is squeezing lemons for his bottled water, using a measuring cup.
Creativity never goes out of style.

And those lemons do go a long way. The waters this week were better than the ones I overdid a few weeks ago.
More lemons will be bought at the supermarket this weekend.Posted 06-18-2015 at 07:14 PM by case44 -
Lemons are good, but I like to sqeeze in some orange or some pineapple just to mix it up. Doesn't have to be a big amount, but just enough to put some taste in the water. When you don't want to do full-fledged juice, sometimes flavored water is the easier way to go.
