A commute way too long

Posted 06-13-2015 at 07:27 PM by PMcGee6

Resentment should be taken out and examined frequently -- at least for me -- lest it build.

So I've been commuting from my home approximately 70 miles to work now for about 7 years. There's any number of reasons why I might resent this -- and right after I started back to work full time after caring for my kiddos as a stay at home mom for about 10 years, I'll admit they were more prevalent.

But I thought I'd worked through the issues, picked them apart with a fine-tooth comb and accepted that what I was doing was my current lot in life.

Yeah, well ... Apparently not. Sitting in traffic the other day, because I'd missed the "good commute window" by about a 15-minute time frame ... I felt that "OMG, I'm going to be late to work; why is everyone else in my way??"

Pretty self-absorbed ... And ludicrous since everyone else is, of course, doing the same "need to get someplace" thing I am.

Guess I let it build up a bit without reminding myself that things could always be worse!
