Sunday ~~ April 5, 2015 ~~ Are you a "paper" person....

Posted 04-05-2015 at 05:29 PM by CSD610

I don't mean "paper" as in a daily newspaper I mean "paper" as in all your records and documents. Do you like having all of the hard copy paper documents but dislike having all of the hard copy paper documents?

I know that sounds like a silly question and it contradicts itself in the same sentence however, it is very true for me. I am a paper girl and have always been a paper girl. I love paper, I love books, I love having all of our records where I can put my hands on that hard copy piece of paper when I need to look something up.

I tell you this because I have been completely out of kilter the last few months and I thought it was the adjustment of the daily medication I take and the new supplements added to my daily consumption of pills. I have since decided it is because I have been scanning all of our documents and then shredding the original documents.
This has upset the "paper" part of my world and it really is not a good thing.

I can never get those original documents back. I can print copies of those documents but the originals are gone and when one is a paper person one should never attempt to go "digital". It just does not work well at all.

So, I am going to spend more money on paper, ink, sheet protectors and binders than I really should have to. All because I am going to purchase all of the above and replace all of the paper documents I have shredded.

I have felt like I have been treading water, barely and so close to drowning in all of these documents and it is all my own doing. I should have known better than to attempt this but I "thought" I would be fine.
I AM NOT FINE, I NEED MY PAPER!!!!!

So I will spend the next few days putting all of these files back together the way I had them before. I will continue to scan the documents and put them all on a jump drive however, I will NOT be shredding anything.
It will go in a sheet protector and the appropriate binder, properly marked and put on the book shelf, where it belongs.

This all means that the first thing tomorrow morning I will be making a trip to the office supply shop and getting what I need to get a good start on getting my paper life back in order and I will happily do the work that needs done to make that part of my life's order complete. Then maybe I won't be so cranky all of the time.

On a different note I have been complaining about all of the "cords" I am surrounded by to Mr. CSD. He listens and doesn't say much but it is true. Now that we are in this "cordless" and "paperless" society I have more "cords" and want my "paper" back.
I definitely liked it better when all I had to do was replace a battery. None of this cord to recharge the phone, iPad (which did not exist back then), scissors, drills, saws, etc. etc. etc.

I like batteries; they are available most anywhere, they are easy to deal with, don't take up much room to keep extras with you, work instantly so you don't have to wait for anything to charge before you can use it and comparatively much less hassle and aggrivation in the big picture of their tiny area.

Also, when one goes to purchase a case for their iPhone, iPad or whatever other device one has, no one and I mean "NO ONE" adds a small pocket to keep the necessary charging cord with the device. One would think that they would catch on to the fact that every device has a cord and every device needs that cord to be charged yet no one has had the thought to add a small pocket to carry that necessary cord.

Apparantly no one on the planet takes the cord with them when they leave the house so the manufacturers of all of those cases "assume" that no one needs a pocket for said necessary cord.

Well, guess what, we travel, we take the iPad, iPhone, laptop, electronic ciagarette with us and guess what, we need that cord.
Guess where the cord goes, it goes in whatever pocket or purse I happen to have available. Then I get to dig through that while I am in our vehicle so I can use the cigarette lighter to charge the device because that rechargeable battery is a piece of useless poo that does not last as long as it is supposed to.

I do not like cordless, rechargeable devices and I am beginning to dislike them more each day.

Do you know how many cords I have that I have no idea what they go to? There is no identifying mark on the cord itself, I have not marked them with a label (my fault I know) and most of the danged things are black so you cannot even identify them with color.

Okay, I am done ranting about cordless rechargeables for now.

Other than that, it is Easter Sunday, some partake in the celebration, some don't.

I did sort of partake today as far as the food part goes. I had Egg Salad for lunch.

So if you do partake "Happy Easter", if you don't "Unhappy Easter".

I will leave you with a few things to ponder if you choose.

When you find something out of the ordinary does it make you wonder where it came from and how it got to the place you found it?
Have you ever found a marble anywhere?
Do you pick up a Penny when you see it on the ground?
How do you determine the amount of Tip you leave a Server?
Do you have color coded covers on the head of your individual keys?

As usual I wish you restful sleep and peaceful dreams when it comes time for you to wander your timbers of slumber.

THAT IS A LOT OF QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED ON THIS BLOG. I USED TO BE A PAPER PERSON BUT NOT ANYMORE. I ONLY KEEP THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS I REALLY NEED SUCH AS BIRTH CERTIFICATES, PASSPORTS, AND SO ON. I AM GOING DIGITAL, I HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AND I DON'T REGRET IT ONE BIT.

HI, EVERY TIME I GET THE MAILING I SCAN IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS SUCH AS BILLS AND THEN SHRED THE ORIGINALS. I HAVE MY "PAPERWORK" ORGANIZED IN SUCH A WAY THAT EVERY TIME I NEED SOMETHING I GO TO MY COMPUTER (EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE) AND SELECT THE DOCUMENT I NEED AND MAKE A HARD COPY. VOILA!!
