It all depends on how you look at it.

I'm talking about my hometown St.Louis.
When people hear the name they automatically think; crime, corruption, old boarded up buildings and a place they would not wish to visit. But there is a good side to everything. For instance, those boarded up old buildings with parts of the roof and walls missing are not just decrepit eye sores they are historic landmarks. You can actually see the damage in person that tornadoes from 1871 and 1896 did to those buildings,it hasn't changed much. It's true that we have a lot of shootings here, so much that we refer to bullet wound scars as " St.Louis tattoos " they're almost as good as a birth certificate, if a fellow has one we know he's from St.Louis and if he has more than one he's probably from North St.Louis. It can also get very peaceful at night in St.Louis. After the sound of gunfire and screams die down and just before you hear the sirens, you can hear the wind blowing the shell casings around in the streets that almost sound like wind chimes. If various caliber bullets were used you can almost make out a tune from the empty shells. One of these days I might make a video of St.Louis to show what I mean. Because it all depends on how you look at it.

I'd much rather think about the positives of St Louis:
The Cardinals
The Gateway Arch
Route 66
The riverfront
Missouri Botanical Garden
Ted Drewes Frozen Custard
The Scott Joplin House
Ribs, ribs, ribs!
Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Park
Six Flags (formerly over Mid-America)
The gateway to the West
If the media would just quit focusing on the goings-on in Ferguson, then I'd definitely put St Louis on my travel plans.Posted 03-19-2015 at 08:14 PM by case44
