UPack Moving – How to Move with a Portable Storage Coupon

There are a lot of DIY moving options available, but I guess the two main ones are: Moving Truck or move with a Portable Storage Container.

When I talk to customers who are looking for help moving, I always ask them if they are moving local or if they plan on moving long distance. As a general rule, I recommend a moving truck for local moves, or for moves that are just 1-2 states over; when it comes to long-distance moves I always recommend ABF UPack or a packrat.

There are differences between the two companies, other than the bulkiness of the containers; and that is the price as well as the tracking service. I do recommend packrat units for contractors who are storing heavy equipment while doing a project, in say, a construction site. But for a moving furniture on a cross-country move, I could see no justification for it. I usually opt against it because the price it would cost the carrier to move heavy containers long distance racks up – and the customer is the one who gets stuck with the final bill.

ABF Relocube containers are cheap to make, lighter to move and just easier for the drop-off guy to place it in your drive way than a PODS or Packrat.

I found a website that provides for $50-$75 off ABF UPack Rentals with their savings voucher. You basically go to their site, click the voucher to activate it, use the code when you do your online quote. You simply add the promo code to the part of the quote that says “Referral Code” and you get $50-$75 off your rental – yes, its that easy.

Even with a Budget Truck Discount, the cost for a cross-country move would be a little more than moving long distance with a portable storage. Money for gas, food, time and not to mention a headache from trying to safely drive from one state to the next in a moving truck full of your stuff, while towing your car on a trailer, are all things that you can easily avoid by simply letting a trucking company carry your stuff in a light box for you on their freight, instead of trying to “man up” and do it the most brutish way possible.

Moving with a portable storage is ideal for a long distance move, letting ABF UPack take care of it, well, just makes good sense;
