Monday ~~ December 8, 2014 ~~ Do you know how forgiving fabric can be?

Posted 12-08-2014 at 02:07 PM by CSD610

This may seem like a silly question but it is a valid question. Do you really know how forgiving fabric can be? You can punch holes into fabric with the needle when sewing the pieces together. Then when you discover you have sewn those pieces together the wrong way you can remove the thread and start over. The tiny holes seem to go back to where they started.

You can also fold and crease and iron fabric then later decide you need that piece of fabric for something else. All you have to do is wash the starch out of the fabric if you have used starch, then iron it again and the creases come out. You may have to iron it a few times but eventually all of the creases come out.

How can we carry this fabric over into our real lives? How can this work throughout our day to day living? I really don't know the right answer to these questions. Perhaps there is not one right answer but many right answers.

What is the basic fabric of your life? Where are your holes? How forgiving are you? How forgiving is someone else? Is your fabric tattered on the edges? Is there a bit of wear in the middle? Do you need to darn a few holes and get them repaired so you can continue to use that part of yourself? What do you use to iron the creases out of the fabric of your life?

Do you use alcohol, drugs, therapy, running, cooking, eating, baking, drawing, sewing, quilting, crafting, throwing rocks at the river or do you put your fabric under a rock and hope no one finds it?

Interesting answers can be found to some or all of these questions if one truly answers them honestly.

What do you accomplish if you put the fabric of your life under a rock though? Do you gain understanding of the tears in the fabric of your life? Do you get those tears fixed while your fabric is under that rock? Do you get that fabric cleaned while it is under that rock?

Does alochol or drugs help bring that fabric out from under that rock? Does running help you fix the creases or keep your mind off of those creases?

Is there someone that can help guide you if you decide you need to pull the fabric of your life out from under that rock and start repairing it so it can be used to it's full potential?

Only you can answer any of the questions I have posted today with regards to your own life and the amount of forgiving your life fabric is capable of.

A few more thoughts to ponder if you choose to do so.

Do you like to text often?
Do you ever sit and watch the squirrels play?
Have you ever gone outside under the light of the full moon just to listen to the Coyotes song?
What are the vices you will not give up?
Do you prefer paper or plastic?

I wish you restful sleep and peaceful dreams when it comes time for you to wander your timbers of slumber.
