Tuesday ~~ November 11, 2014 ~~ Have you found anything out of the ordinary recently?

Posted 11-11-2014 at 08:46 PM by CSD610

It doesn't have to be anything specific just something that you found in an odd location. I found a marble in our front yard where we lived 7 years ago. How often do you expect to find a marble in your front yard? I can honestly say I have never expected that yet I found the marble.

When I lived with friends for about a year many years ago I used to find dead mice in my shoes. Their cats were leaving me "gifts", disgusting gifts, but gifts none the less. I have found a quarter stuck to the bottom of a beer bottle before and a piece of gum in the freezer under the peas, a bottle opener in the glove box of a used car I bought. A pair of women's panties were found clogging the toilet in the men's bathroom at a convenience I used to manage.

Recently though I haven't found anything out of the ordinary anywhere. I'm not sure why but I'm not sure why I think I should find something out of the ordinary after finding the marble in the front yard that one time.

I guess finding something in an odd place is a slightly different enough event to make one look forward to the next hidden treasure that could be found somewhere along the path of their life.

What other hidden treasures could be out there? An author you have never heard of, a book that is completely outside of the topics you usually read about, an old photo of an old lover that you thought you got rid of tucked in an old jewelry box at the very bottom. It's hard to say what hidden treasure may lie in the path you walk daily.

Are there other hidden treasures that are not tangible, material possessions out there. I'm sure there are but what is a hidden treasure to me could be a blatant nightmare to you. Hard to say since we are all as individual as our eyes.

The eyes, our human eyes, the "windows" to our Soul. I wonder who spoke that phrase the first time and what the situation was that those particular words came into their thoughts and compelled them to speak those words out loud. Who were they talking to? Who were they talking about? It could have been idle gossip on a lazy afternoon having tea in the garden with Scarlet who just whacked the butler with the pipe wrench. Wait, isn't that the game of Life? No, it's Clue.

I am curious what inspired those games as well, the game of Life I understand more but a game about who murdered whom, where, when and with what? Anyway, life certainly is not a game and neither is murder but I never really cared for those games anyway.

The one big thing that I have never understood though is clowns. I can honestly say I hate clowns and not just one part of clowns, everything that has anything to do with clowns I hate. From what I understand I am not the only one that hates clowns.

All the technology that is released everyday is supposed to make life easier or at least make tasks in life easier but I think it has made things harder. It has made humans lazy and unable to communicate properly with each other. No one can ask anyone for a date without using the text part of their cell phone. No one remembers anyone else's phone number because it is stored on the phone. No one has to take a call from someone they really don't want to talk to because of caller ID and goodness knows so many could not possibly survive having supper at the same table as their family without the games on their cell phone saving them from being part of a discussion.

It is so hard to figure out why humans are filled with fear, anxiety and are socially awkward now more than in the past? I figured it out a long time ago and honestly I think some people could not survive 10 minutes without their electronic gadgets. They would start going through withdrawal symptoms, get cranky, get mean, pout, cry and be unable to actually use their voice to tell someone what is wrong with them.
If they can't text it they can't describe it.

I should stop for now because this is so long already and for whatever reason this evening; I could literally ramble on for a long time.

So in parting I will leave you with a few things to ponder if you choose to.

Do you like plain popcorn?
Have you walked a mile in someone else's shoes recently?
Do you prefer paper or plastic?
Do you like black and white photos?
Do you listen as well as hear?
Is there a hoot owl in your trees?

As usual I wish you restful sleep and peaceful dreams when it comes time for you to wander your timbers of slumber.
