Sleepless in St.Louis

Posted 10-26-2014 at 03:45 AM by aliasfinn

Did you ever lay down to take a short daytime nap then wake up at some goofy hour with nothing to do? That happened to me this summer. I woke up in the morning with a bad headache and didn't feel like doing anything because my head kept pounding. I tried laying down several times but the pounding only seemed to get worse. Finally around 5 or 6 o'clock in the afternoon I decided to try and steam the headache out by laying down in a tub of hot water. I stayed in there for about 30 minutes and the headache subsided but I felt real dizzy so I laid down in bed before I passed out. I fell asleep almost immediately and woke up at 3am with all kinds of energy. I checked the tv and all that was on was paid programming and a repeat of the news so I walked around the house trying to find something to do. I thought about tying a flashlight to my lawnmower and cutting the front yard, I figured if I couldn't sleep neither should anyone else. I decided to walk around the neighborhood instead. It was a clear night and I saw a shooting star or a meteor which I thought was cool. Somebody in the neighborhood had a barbeque earlier that night and the smell was still in the air. I spotted a possum sitting in the middle of the road pretending to be dead in case I was going to mess with him which I didn't. When I got two streets over a dog chased me and I had to hop a fence and hide behind some bushes until he left, that's when a cop shined his spotlight on me and I had to prove to him who I was and what I was doing at that hour, lucky I had my wallet with me. All that excitement must have worn me out because when I got home I had a bowl of Cocoa Pebbles and slept like a baby.
