Looking for stuff

Posted 10-12-2014 at 10:22 PM by aliasfinn

It seems like I was always looking for stuff when I was a kid. In grade school I was always picking thru the lost and found box in the hall. Once the Principal saw me wearing one glove and digging around in there and he asked, " What's the matter Finn, did you lose a glove? " I told him that I found the one I was wearing in there yesterday and I was looking to see if there was another one to match it. I always came home with pencils and articles of clothing that I found in the lost and found. We spent a lot of time looking for empty soda bottles, golf balls near the golf course and climbing in and out of dumpsters. There was this grubby kid in school who always had insects or lizards that he brought with him and he paid me an Eisenhower silver dollar to help him catch crawdads from a nearby creek. Most were pretty small but on occasion we would catch large red ones that we called " Blood Suckers. " Sometimes they would clamp their huge claws on our fingers and that would hurt like Hell. He ended up with a bucket full of those things, not sure if he ate them. About the only time I look for stuff these days is when I lose something and that really frustrates me.
