ON: How seriously are you taken based on what you wear?
Quote:
Humans have always worn wealth and status. Always. Chiefs, Shamans, other members of the clan dressed differently to differentiate themselves and indicate wealth, status, intelligence, guild membership, family, and much more.
My family, in Ireland, has a Standard. They display it proudly, though it isn't "necessary" per se these days to fly the pennants or wear the standard clearly, as it was in say medieval times when membership in a clan, family, group, city-state, etc. was life-and-death.
Uh, yes it does say plenty about you in how you dress, and how others perceive you. We judge one another constantly, it's a rolling process whether we know it or not. Dress like a vagrant, what else should others assume, on first brush? Probably that you are a vagrant, and not all that terribly interesting. Not "snobbery," more like "common sense" that is correct roughly 99.9% in life.
