I love a parade

Have you ever ended up in a place you didn't intend on going? One time I was driving an old pickup that was loaded down with rotted wood,bald tires and other assorted junk across a bridge into another town. The truck was painted with gray primer on certain spots and rust eaten on others and made a loud noise because the exhaust had fallen off and was tied up with a coat hanger. When I got across the bridge I noticed thousands of people lined up on both sides of the street and the direction I wanted to turn down was closed off. There was another side street that was open and I later figured out that was the detour I needed but I wasn't sure where that street ended up so I turned left. That was a mistake. I ended up in the middle of a parade with floats in front of me and floats behind me all going about 5mph. There were bands marching and the floats were throwing candy to the crowds. I thought to myself, " How do I get out of this mess " It was a long street and all of the side streets were closed off. The crowd was clapping and cheering and I started to pretend it was for me,I even looked on my dashboard for some gum to throw them but all I could find were a couple of oily spark plugs so I just began waving to the crowd. They probably thought, " What's that hunk of shyt doing here? " " Who's he supposed to be? " I was eventually able to turn down a service road and escape the parade.
