Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you. ~1 Thessalonians 5:18
“…And If you would count the blessings of Allah you would not be able to count them…” ~Surah Ibrahim 14:34
Today I am thankful for being given the chance to interview at Build A Bear. I'm not sure how it went - I thought it went well, it seemed like I matched what she was looking for, but when it came to the times... not so much. I wanted to work days until 5pm because I do have another job and well, I don't want to be walking at night (this area is getting scary now). She said she needed someone not so rigid in time and I did say, "Well,I could find transit." She thanked me for my time and said she'll call me next week. Who knows what will happen and I felt dejected for a brief moment and as I e-mailed my former co-worker from the office job, I realized I shouldn't feel so dejected. A career here isn't my main priority; yes, I need a job for extra money but my main priority is finding a career in Wisconsin. I remembered that Starbucks is hiring and other opportunities to find work in a high turnover environment: the holidays are coming and I'm sure other stores are hiring for someone temporary. I also thought of a bagel shop near my house that is only open from 7am-2pm. Hope is not lost for extra cash! I'm thankful that I was given the opportunity to interview today because as I interviewed, I remembered strengths I had from working my other jobs; I remembered the team work I did for getting the RECAP conferences together with my other co-workers and I remembered I do have to work as a team with my coworkers at the library from time to time. I never remembered this for Michigan jobs. I'm going to write this down for when I do interview in Wisconsin and I'll remember it for other interviews. Even if I don't get the job, I'm thankful for the insight it gave me. I truly do believe I will get something here to tide me over and I do believe my dream will come true in a few months.
