These are words I wrote in the year 2000, let's see how they grab you.

Expanded Thoughts.......

Unconditional Love, quite a bold statement for most to say that they actually know what “Unconditional Love” truly is. How does one know what something actually is that cannot be seen, touched, smelled, simply felt. An emotion, a human emotion at that. Human’s have so many different emotions and every human does not “feel” the same as every other human because one can only feel their own level of emotions. Some seem to have no emotions at all, yet others seem to have more than enough for everyone to go around. It all makes no sense whatsoever this whole “human emotion” thing, whatever it may be. Some of us try to live our lives the way we believe and what “society” accepts as correct. We are kind and considerate to other humans, we do not lie, cheat, steal, covet others things, etc., etc., etc.......yet as humans we still argue about whether there is a God, which religion is better, and what exact time the sun will rise that particular day. Isn’t everything we have, see, taste, smell, touch, believe, read, watch, listen to, and use to measure our days a “Human”“Man made” convenience? Perhaps God is not man made, that all depends on your individual beliefs and whom/what you worship in your particular religion. How can you not have “conditions” when it comes to love? For example, isn’t a “condition” of love not having your heart ripped out and stomped on by the human in the eye of your affection, isn’t not dating someone else a “condition” of love, isn’t being thoughtful of their feelings a “condition” of love, so how can one honestly say they have “Unconditional Love” for you when you are the very humans who put these conditions on each other. A bit ironic how life works out from time to time. You believe you live your life “properly” depending on whose definition of “properly” we each use and you still do not have fame, fortune, unconditional love, or a cat. It seems how we live our lives and how true we are to ourselves is how our lives live us, if that makes any sense at all. If you have no self-worth you somehow are surrounded by others who have no self-worth., if you are an alcoholic again you are surrounded by alcoholics. Once you decide you are worth more than nothing or you are no longer dependent on alcohol it is as if there is a magik in the air and you are surrounded not by those who clinged to you before but by those who encourage you to continue your level of self-worth and “make something of your life”. I suppose the main question is “Where does your inspiration to make your life better” come from, is it truly your decision or is there an “unseen” force that gives you a small push in the right direction? Then, you have to ask yourself is this the right direction for you? Are you willing to give up your “old friends” to be accepted by your “new friends” and does it really matter what any other human thinks of you as long as you think of yourself as being worth the effort to improve, change, be better, etc., etc., etc. Once you have decided to do this for yourself, how do you go about getting it done? What is the first step to enlightenment? Is there a book to read, an article to follow through several issues of a magazine, is there a questionnaire that you can take that will give you all the answers you need to make things all better? So many questions, who has all the answers? Some say your “inner self” has all the answers, others say it’s the “universe” that will talk to you, and still others say “God” is the only one with all the answers. Well, if you didn’t have self-worth before and didn’t believe in anything, and wasn’t enlightened, involved with the universe and engaged to God how the Hades can you even know what is true, right or “socially acceptable”. What a tangled web we weave just to be human, or considered human since we have 2 legs, arms, hands, feet and for some a small tail that does not wag. Wouldn’t it be easier to be an animal, live in the wild, kill something for our food, and work off all of the calories from said food chasing our next meal? No worries over who is prettier, smarter, taller, shorter, healthier, richer, what we shall wear to the ball, where to get our next meal, how to pay that power bill. It’s all said and done, chase something, catch it, rip its throat out, eat, then take a nap.

How hard is that right? I don’t suppose it is quite that easy, but on TV it most certainly looks easier than going to a job you hate everyday, tolerating a bunch of crap, worrying about how to pay your power bill, what to wear, and who really cares who is physically pretty on the outside when that is so superficial, isn’t it right down to basics the beauty of humans inside their hearts and souls that really counts? I can only speak for myself and I say “YES”, outside beauty lasts as long as you can afford the plastic surgeon, inside beauty lasts a lifetime. I believe you can touch someone forever inside their heart and soul with a brief act of kindness than you can ever leave a lasting impression with plastic beauty that is truly “skin deep”. Anyway, I’ve babbled on long enough I suppose for one evening. When does a rant become a story and when does poetry become prose. Two questions I cannot answer myself so; I put them to the “Universe of the Gods” and dare them to give m eall the answers to all the questions I have. Surely then I will be perfect and perhaps will not be considered “human” any longer....... just another animal with 4 legs and a furry tail that used to rule Egypt.

As usual I wish you restful sleep and peaceful dreams when it comes time for you to wander your timbers of slumber.
