Tuesday~~ July 15, 2014 ~~ I have been forced to start using my new laptop.

Posted 07-15-2014 at 10:19 PM by CSD610

It is sort of a good thing but sort of a bad thing as well. My beloved Compaq finally completely died on me today which is not good because I have things on the desktop in folders I had not put on the external hard drive yet. Hopefully Staples can get those things off the desktop and onto the hard drive for me. The new laptop is an HP touch screen and let me tell you, it is different.

I do like the touch screen tremendously however, just adapting to a new piece of equipment is hard anyway but this is an entirely new set of adapting.

I can't get the colors set the way I want, I haven't quite figured out how to add my printer that is wireless, the keyboard is very different and smaller and all the other little bells and whistles that I have to become familiar with.

Oh well, there are worse things in life to have to adapt to but this is probably one of the longer adaptation time frames.

It is taking a long time to get my printer installed but as long as it works when it is all done I don't mind the wait.

I am going to keep the blog short today since this is the first one on the new laptop. It is very touchy and I keep scrolling with the keyboard and have no idea how I am doing that.

Just a couple things to leave with you to ponder if you choose to.

How well do you adapt to new equipment?
How well do you adapt to new situation?
Do you like Key Lime Pie?
Do you like Key Lime Yogurt?
Is your favorite color purple?
Do you have your favorite jammies on currently?
and last but not least important
Did you brush and floss your teeth today?

As usual I wish you restful sleep and peaceful dreams when it is time for you to wander your timbers of slumber.

I don't adapt well at all to new equipment. But this is of my own doing. Seldom do I read the owner's manual. I just jump in.

Take for instance this laptop. I was in a hurry to fire it up and get online.

Manual? We don need no stinking manual.

It took me months to figure out how I was inadvertently changing the font size with the scroll pad. It was frustrating, but not enough to get me to read up on it.

I've done this with my phone and with my kindle. Owned the kindle for maybe 2 years now and I just recently figured out that I can organize my books into folders. No more scrolling through 17+ pages looking for a thriller. Now I just go to my MST (Mystery Suspense Thriller) folder and voila!

I adapt very well in new situations.

Love both Key Lime Pie and Carbmaster's Key Lime Yogurt.

My favorite color does happen to be purple

Yes to my jammies and no I haven't flossed today. Thanks for reminding me.

    Have An Amazing Week!
