Plastic army men

Posted 07-12-2014 at 07:06 PM by aliasfinn

When we were kids our mom would buy us a bag of those plastic army men for .99 cents at the thrift store. My brother and I would split them up even and position them in the back yard and begin our war. We started out throwing rocks at each other's soldiers but got bored and started picking them off with BB guns. We then came up with the ultimate weapon, " The Flame Thrower " actually it was a can of our mom's hairspray and we would hold lit kitchen matches in front of the spray. The plastic they were made from burned real good. When we saw our mom making out her shopping list we asked her to buy us some more army men and she would inquire about the last ones she bought for us. My brother told her there were heavy casualties that week. Then our dad came in from the back yard carrying a big wad of green melted plastic and told her, " Don't buy them anymore army men, I found out what they did to the last ones."That pretty much marked the end of our plastic army men wars.
