I guess I am a real mix mash,I am from Miami FLA My parents are from New York and Kentucky so I have a bit of the south and north in me.We moved to the mnts of Western North Carolina 15 years ago, just a 3 hour drive from Wytheville VA and a hour from Asheville and live in a very small country township on a farm and I am with my partner of 37 years. The folks here seem to except us and we never had any trouble we know the locals and live a very quite life but I am wanting a old Victorian home something that looks like Grandmas house so I am looking at many smaller towns within the Southeast.I seem to think and worry about the weather and tornados and floods more than being accepted I guess I still believe in good folks in the south and love the simple county lifestyle but with this new weather lately I my doing my homework on what seems to be a safe area.Eastern NC seems nice and cheaper homes but bad storms Asheville is getting too expensive so I am looking at a postcard today that I got back in the late 60;'s of Wytheville VA and thought how nice it looks and remember spending summers at Big Meadows Lodge in Luray VA so anyone with any thoughts of a nice place with old style homes I would love to hear about it.
