hunterseat df: Hunter Seat Equitation is a division that is judged on the ability and the style of the rider. The riders can be judged both over fences and on the flat.

Although true, hunters DO eat, at least the skilled ones do, my name derives from the world of horses.

And because the word hunter is in my name, people automatically think I'm a guy. Not even close.

Whenever I meet someone named Hunter I have to bite my tongue to keep from saying "That's my name, too!"

My best God story

I was an active member of a single parent ministry. I was poor but I wasn't practicing good stewardship. I started praying for help getting my finances straight. Suddenly, multiple opportunities were available to me and I attended them all. Crown financial ministry course, a ladies group with an emphasis on money management, and my Sunday school teacher did a study around finances. One of the first thing he stressed was the importance of having a slush fund available if someone needed...say...A SET OF TIRES. Like I would ever be able to do that. I was the one who needed help. So I kept praying and praying and these opportunities surfaced. I did not practice what was preached to me. But I listened and kept praying: Teach me God.

I was so hard headed and God knew that. It would take something more dramatic to teach me. Within a 2 month period my microwave broke, my computer crashed, lightning took out my TV, my car was totaled and a tree fell on my house. Alrighty then!

I was military and had 6-week orders out of state with a bunch of other coworkers. Most of us planned to drive. I had no car. Lamenting to my hair dresser, she offered me a car she had that needed a new engine. Hmm... I could see that possibly... But she just put tires on it so she wanted to recoup part of that cost. No biggee. After consulting several experts it seemed my idea wasn't as good as I thought so I was back to trying to find transportation. Plus I had a junk car in my yard.

I located a great used Mazda 626, which I loved more than any car I had. I got financing (a miracle in itself) and only had to pick it up.

At work a coworker was also going out-of-state. He drove the same model as my junk car so I asked him if he wanted the tires. When he came over and checked out the tires he asked how much I wanted for them. Ya know? I was going to have to get the car towed out of there. If he swapped his old tires for these he could just have them for free. He was silent for a moment or two then he said this: "I want you to know, this is an answer to a prayer. I knew I had to have tires for my car to make the trip but I had no idea how I was going to afford them. I prayed to God for a set of tires." I was speechless and got teary eyed and then got smacked in the head with the memory of the Bible study teacher saying "..in case someone needs a new set of tires." THAT WAS COOL! And life changing.

So I waited for my son to pick me up after school to go pick up the Mazda before they closed. I got the money during my lunch break and was hoping to get my beautiful car. I rushed into the place about 5 minutes before closing, and the guy said "Well yeah, you can pick it up today if you want to but tomorrow we're sending it out for a new set of tires."

My best God story. True 'dat.

    Nice story Hunterseat !

I saw your comment in another thread about regretting your move and wanted you to know you can count on Romans 8:28 "ALL things work together for our good...". God can use this move from Hawaii to Georgia for something good in your life !

    Blessings and well wishes, ~HDL~
