Sarasota Flood Insurance

Posted 06-14-2014 at 07:44 AM by dpbarr2000

A lot of buyers I have been working with have been concerned about potential price increases and changes for Sarasota flood insurance.

Well, there's good news on this subject. Congress has passed a measure that repeals the huge increases home buyers and home owners were threatened with under the Biggert/Waters Flood Insurance Act of 2012.

Now, new owners will be able to keep the current grandfathered rate, with no more than a 15% increase thereafter.

The appreciation you will experience owning a home on or close to the water is faster than homes further away, and will offset the relatively small cost of annual flood insurance.

Don't let flood insurance be a determining factor in your home purchase decision!
